When Grandma Sun saw Zhao Jinhua, her heart skipped a beat. She was wounded to the point that her nose was bruised and her face was swollen. Her nose was bleeding and there was a lot of blood on her body. She looked like she took a beating and it was not a light one.

She was also there when Yunyu was harvesting wheat in the village two days ago. At that time, she also watched as Zhao Jinhua pestered Yunyu about buying her wheat. In the end, she was furious when Yunyu rejected her and cursed at Yunyu. She remembered Yunyu lightly saying that misfortune came out of her mouth.

At that time, she was standing not far behind Yunyu, so she also heard what Yunyu said.

Grandma Sun remembered that Zhao Jinhua went to the town’s grain purchase station to sell her grains again today. Her family had tried to sell their grain there once before, but the town’s grain purchase station refused to accept them as the quality was too poor. Could it be that she had an argument with someone while selling grain today and was beaten up? ?

Misfortune really came from the mouth.

Grandma Sun was holding her little grandson and chills ran down her spine. Didn’t this Yunyu go to the Imperial Capital to study?

How did she turn into a semi-immortal? With such prophetic words and the ability to save lives with a single matra, how could she not be partially immortal. She was even more powerful than Old Man Hu in the village (T/N: The person who had some metaphysics knowledge who had passed away and who Yunyu claimed to be her teacher). Old Man Hu only helped people read their faces; Yunyu was the one with real skills.

Grandma Sun secretly rejoiced that she had not offended the Yun family. She hurriedly carried the child to the emergency room.

The doctor was busy examining Xu Xiaopeng, but Xu Xiaopeng kept crying.

More than half an hour later, Grandma Sun’s son and daughter-in-law rushed to the hospital. Mother Xu saw that her son was wet and covered with green duckweed, and she couldn’t help but to cry while questioning her mother-in- law, “How the hell did you care for Xiaopeng? If you don’t want to take care of him, just tell it to me straight. The child is almost three and can go to kindergarten. I give you money every month so that you don’t have to care about anything else and only take care of Xiaopeng well. How could he have fallen into the pond?”

FatherXu did not say a word. Seeing his son’s miserable appearance, he also blamed his mother in his heart.

Grandma Sun did not dare to speak. It was indeed due to her negligence. In the countryside, it was normal to take children to do farm work, but she should not have let Xiaopeng run around and play.

After the doctor’s examination, he found that the child was fine. “Fortunately, the rescue was done in time and the lack of oxygen did not cause too much damage. But, you still need to pay a little more attention in the next few days. If there is anything abnormal about the child when he returns home, he will have to come back for a checkup.”

Mother Xu said sadly, “Doctor, since Xiaopeng is fine, why is he still crying?”

The doctor said, “The child was in the water for too long and was only found after a while. It is normal for him to be frightened and to cry when scared. I’ll prescribe him some calming medicine for the child to drink. These two days,  you as parents should spend more time with your child.”

Mother Xu thanked the doctor again and again and took the child back to the village. She had heard about the entire incident on the way back and planned to go to the Yun’s at night to thank Yunyu in person.

With something like this happening to their child, the husband and wife pair could not go to work at ease. So, they took two days off to stay at home with the child and in the meantime think about how to take care of the child.

After such an experience, they were also worried about letting the old lady care for the child in the village.

    ——————————————————————————————————————–

Song Ziming did his work meticulously. He had only finished polishing all the bamboo when Grandma Yun and Mother Yun came back from town in the evening. He decided to wait till the next day to build the rack.

Grandma Yun bought a lot of snails back. She poured them directly into the wooden basin in the yard and added some well water into it. She then asked Yunyu to bring out the salt jar. Yunyu, who was coming out with the salt jar, asked, “Grandma, are you gonna cook snails tonight? The snails look quite big.”

Grandma Yun laughed and said, “Xiao Song and Xiao Li came to eat, and we don’t have any good dishes. So, when I saw that there were some snails for sale, I bought some back. The seller said that the snails were cleaned, but let’s soak them for another two more hours. I’m afraid that they were not cleaned well and would taste sandy when eaten.”

“Okay.” Yunyu poured two spoonfuls of salt into it, and stirred it. Song Ziming, who had finished polishing the bamboo, ran over to watch the snail spit out sand.

Grandma Yun went to catch a young rooster and slaughtered it to be stewed for dinner at night. The eggs at home were consumed quickly, so, a few days ago, Grandma Yun went to the town to buy over one hundred chicks and threw them into the chicken coop. In addition, She also bought twenty baby geese. The little geese were kept separately from the chickens for fear that they might fight. The unwanted vegetable leaves picked every day were used to feed them. They were growing up nicely and were very lively with none of them falling ill.

They had not finished eating the fish that were caught before and kept them in wooden barrels. There were several flathead catfish in the barrel. Grandma Yun slaughtered them all and stewed them with soybean paste.

The soybean paste was made by Grandma Yun herself. Last year, she made quite a lot and she still had not finished eating it. When used to stew fish, the dish would taste very fresh.

Dinner was home-cooked food, braised flathead fish with soybean sauce, stewed chicken with mushrooms, stir-fried snails, steamed eggplant, bamboo leaf with garlic, scrambled eggs with loofah, and a sugar-pickled tomato. Song Zhiming ate without even raising his head. He had thought the steamed buns in the morning were already very delicious, but now he realized that in the Yun family, there is only food that is tastier than the one before and no one that is the tatasist (T/N: Means that there isn’t one ultimate dish that is the tastiest because the next dish that is eaten will be tastier than the last so there can’t be one that is the best). The flathead catfish was so tender that it could melt in the mouth. Then, there was the chicken with mushrooms. The mushroom had absorbed the sauce and every mouthful was heavenly. The chicken was also tender and delicious. The snail had not a single grain of sand. It was delicious, refreshing and chewy. Even the green vegetables were extremely delicious.

Upper left: Braised flathead fish with soybean sauce (黄豆酱焖黄骨鱼) ,Upper right: Stewed chicken with mushrooms (小鸡炖蘑菇),Middle left: Stir-fried snails (爆炒田螺),Bottom 1: Steamed eggplant (蒸茄子),Bottom 2: Bamboo leaf with garlic (蒜蓉竹叶菜),Bottom 3: Scrambled eggs with loofah (丝瓜炒蛋),Bottom 4: Sugar-pickled tomato (白糖腌番茄)

Song Ziming thought sadly, what would he do when he returned to the Imperial Capital? Other things could no longer be fit to be eaten.

Li Zhou also immersed himself in the meal. Such a table of home-cooked food tasted better than the food in five-star hotels in the Imperial Capital. If it wasn’t for the urging of their master, he would actually like to stay around for a few days before returning to the Imperial Capital.

The Yun family had dinner late. They ate at 7.00 pm and it was getting dark then.

After eating, it was already 7:30 pm and the last ray of sunlight slowly faded out of the sky. It was beautiful.

After dinner, Song Ziming and Li Zhou took the peaches that had been chilled from the well water and washed them. They then sat on the stone bench outside to nibble them while looking at the sunset and the mountains in the distance, at ease and in comfort.

Grandma Yun came out and said to the two, “Xiao Song, Xiao Li, Grandma has cleaned up the guest room. Why don’t you stay the night instead of going back to town and sleep in the guestroom instead?” Song Ziming nodded hurriedly, “Okay, Grandma. We’ll just sleep here tonight.”

Li Zhou had no choice but to nod his head.

Grandma Yun said, “Then you guys take a shower and go to bed. Grandma has to go to the bun shop in the town to sleep. It will be more convenient tomorrow morning.”

Li Zhou said, “Grandma, let me go back to town with you. Our luggage is still in the hotel.” He decided to accept their hospitality since the Yuns were warm and welcoming towards their guests. Besides, Yunyu was also from Xuanmen and he treated her as a friend. In addition, the environment there was cozy. He felt more comfortable there than staying in a hotel in the town.

Li Zhou accompanied Grandma Yun to town and brought back the luggage. The two of them took the bus. Li Zhou was considered down-to-earth. He also took the bus when he came back with his and his junior brother’s luggage.

Mother Yun stayed at home to sleep that night. After all, it was not ideal to leave Xiao Yu’er, a girl, alone at home.

As soon as Li Zhou walked to the gate of the Yun’s house with his luggage, he saw a young couple behind Grandma Sun whom he met the afternoon. They were holding a child in their arms and the child happened to be the one who fell into the water in the afternoon.

Grandma Sun also saw Li Zhou, but she did not dare to say any more teasing words.

    After entering the yard.

Yunyu was sitting on the stone bench, waiting to hear Song Ziming plans for the small yard, where to plant a bowl of lotus and dig a small fish pond to raise a few koi.

Mother Xu followed the tall man into the yard, and when she saw Yunyu, she immediately hugged Xiaopeng over to thank her. She was choked up as she spoke, and hugged the child tightly.

Yunyu said, “Xiaopeng’s mother, no need to be so polite. We’re all from the same village. How could I possibly let someone die if I see it happening? It’s just that you need to be more careful in the future. The child is still too young after all.” Mother Xu nodded repeatedly, hesitated before saying,” I heard about what happened in the afternoon from my mother-in-law. After Xiaopeng was sent to the hospital for examination, there was nothing serious, but he kept crying. He also took the tranquilizing medicine prescribed by the doctor, but it still didn’t help. Xiaopeng has been crying until now, refusing to sleep. I…I know that you are a capable master, Yunyu, so I wanted to come over and ask if there is anything wrong with him.”

She did not believe what her mother-in-law said about Yunyu at first, but after Xiaopeng went home and took the medicine, he kept crying all afternoon and refused to sleep. So, she had no choice but to take a chance by bringing the child over.

Yunyu took a look at the child and said, “After falling into the water, two out of the three souls had scattered. Since the two souls were just called back, they must be unstable.”

Mother Xu could not help but say, “Is there any way to cure it?”

“Let me give it a try.” Yunyu made a hand seal and recited a claiming mantra, and the child really stopped crying.

Mother Xu and FatherXu were stunned. In the end, Yunyu took out a talisman from the house and handed it to Mother Xu, “This is the peace talisman. Put it in the child’s pocket and don’t let it leave his body. The soul will stabilize after seven days. “

Mother Xu thanked Yunyu profusely, and finally thought of something. She handed the child over to Father Xu and took out a stack of money from the small bag she was carrying. She handed it over to Yunyu and said, “Yunyu, thank you so much. Keep the money.” The money was withdrawn from the bank when they heard that the child had an accident. They thought that the child would be admitted to intensive care.

Yunyu was not too polite. The talisman needed to be paid for, so she took the money and asked them to pay attention to the child in the future.

When Xu family left, Mother Xu carried the child back home. The child did not cry all the way and fell asleep obediently after eating a bowl of steamed eggs.

Mother Xu was distressed about the money. The husband and wife pair rented a house to go to work in Changshui City. Their combined monthly income was barely 10,000.

But she knew that the money had to be given. Firstly, Yunyu saved Xiaopeng. Secondly, she was considered a semi-immortal, so there would definitely be a charge for the child’s soul-soothing and calling.

After the Xu family left, Song Ziming could no’t help but say, “Xiao Yu’er, with your skills, if you go to the Imperial Capital, you can just simply help people take a look at their feng shui and perform some rituals, you’d be able to earn hundreds of thousands of dollars.”

“I don’t want to go to the Imperial Capital,” Yunyu said slowly , “I like Qinghe Village. Don’t you think this is a very good place?”

The high-rise buildings were unfamiliar to her, and she could not find a sense of belonging.

Song Ziming thought about it and also felt that living in such a place was indeed very comfortable.

At night, the two disciple brothers Song and Li huddled together on the bed in the guest room accompanied by the clear wind and bright moon outside the window, and fell asleep within seconds. They slept until 5.00 am and woke up refreshed. They felt at one with the world (T/N: I have nooo idea what this sentence was so I interpreted it based on my understanding. Exact words were: 有种恍如隔世周身通透的感觉, loosely translated as ‘There is a feeling of being transparent all over the world’). They were both cultivators and knew this was also a kind of insight, and immediately started meditating.

Yunyu also got up early and meditated as usual. At six o’clock, she jogged in the yard for an hour as her body was too weak and needed exercise.

Later, when she has adapted to this pace, she planned on using medicinal baths to open up her muscles and bones. This would allow her to better practice Kung Fu.

At seven o’clock, Yunyu took a bath and changed her clothes. She then went to the eaves to visit the black dog that was rescued yesterday. It became more energetic, and when it saw Yunyu coming, it wagged its tail vigorously. Yunyu fed it two mouthfuls of the spiritual spring water, and then helped it clean its wounds. Its abdominal injury was too serious, so she could only feed it some porridge yesterday. It could only take liquid food for five or six days and could not eat anything else until the abdominal wound was healed.

MotherYun got up early to help out at the steamed bun shop, so Yunyu, Song Ziming and Li Zhou were the only ones at home.

Yunyu used gas and a pressure cooker to cook some porridge. She did not have the skills of Grandma Yun and Mother Yun, and she did not know how to use the firewood pot, so she could only cut pickled vegetables and stir fried them for breakfast.

Song Ziming came to the kitchen in a hurry, and found that there was only white porridge and pickled vegetables for breakfast, so he made a bitter face. In the end, he still ate two bowls, and even went to the town to eat a bowl of braised noodles. He brought along the peaches taht were picked yesterday to the store to sell. He and his senior brother planned on staying here for two more days before returning.

After he finished the braised noodles, he ran back and began to set up the rack in the yard. Yunyu sat next to him and chopped vegetables for the chickens and geese. The vegetable leaves were still rather tender, it’s just that they were not the prettiest, so she picked them and fed them to the chicken and geese. Yunyu seldom fed spirit spring water to the chickens, but did feed some to the goslings as they can still look after the house when they grow up.

After chopping up a big pot of vegetable leaves, Yunyu took it to the chicken coop outside the yard. The little fluffy chicken and goose cubs came over flapping their little wings when they heard her footsteps.

She poured the vegetable leaves into the long feeding trough and the chicks gathered around to eat. Then, she went to feed the remaining half to the goslings.

Grandma Yun liked to be clean and so the chicken coop had to be cleaned every day.

At noon, Mother Yun came back to cook. The three crucian carps that were leftover fish from yesterday were fired. She bought some ribs and came back to make sweet and sour pork ribs. She also fried a few other usual dishes.

Song Ziming continued to build the rack. He built the rack for two full days and surrounded it with bamboo railings that were half a person’s height, making it look like a small pavilion.

These roses were brought back by Grandma Yun and they were all placed in some pots. Song Ziming transplanted them all to the ground and told Yunyu, “They would grow better when they touch soil. If they continue to stay in their pots, they would not be able to absorb enough nutrients and would not be able to coil onto the rack. These kinds of roses like water. They should be able to survive if you water a lot every day.”

Naturally, Yunyu would not tell him that she watered them with spiritual spring water, which contained rich spiritual energy and was very nutritious, every day.

Seeing Song Ziming working hard to dig a hole for the roses, she felt quite embarrassed, and stepped forward and said, “Let me dig it for you.”

Song Ziming looked at her stomach (T/N: It’s nothing weird people! She’s pregnant. I was confused for a moment too), and hurriedly said, “No, no, you are a girl. Sit down and play. I only have a few holes left and I can dig them all in a jiffy.”

Sure enough, he dug very quickly, and he dug five holes in half an hour. He transplanted the pots of roses along with their soil into the holes and left two pots to continue climbing the wall. He moved the remaining three pots to the corner of the other side, and put their branches on the rack so that they would climb up the rack and fill the whole rack.

Song Ziming and Li Zhou stayed in Qinghe Village for another three or four days, and they left only after Yun Sheng went to school on Sunday.

Originally, they had planned to go back by plane, but Li Zhou suddenly drove a car from god knows where, so they drove back instead. It took at least twelve or thirteen hours using the highway and they did so just to bring back the peaches, watermelons and the Yun family’s  vegetables.

The trunk was well stuffed, and there were several watermelons in the back seat. These were all the ripe watermelons that Yunyu picked out from the melon patch.

In the end, Song Ziming gave Yunyu a pink mobile phone when he left. Yunyu recognized that it was a very famous brand. The camera was very high-definition, and the photos it took were very beautiful.

Yunyu accompanied them at home for the past few days, and occasionally,  she played with her mobile phone and took pictures of the scenery. Her mobile phone was still an older smartphone from a few years ago and it was very laggy. Though she did not use it often, it was indeed troublesome to use. Song Ziming noticed that and so, he ordered a smartphone of the latest version online and gave it to Yunyu.

He even taught her how to play mobile games. Li Zhou kept advising her, telling Yunyu how bad mobile games were. He was really afraid that a good seedling in metaphysics would be misled by his junior brother.

If that happened, it would really break his heart.

Not only that, Song Ziming also dragged Yunyu to two WeChat groups. One of them was the Guiyuan Sect’s group with about 20 or 30 people in it. Guiyuan Sect’s Tan Lao (T/N: Old Tan) had three direct disciples and the rest were ordinary disciples of the Guiyuan Sect. There were also Li Zhou’s two young disciples in the group.

Li Zhou and Song Ziming did not mention Yunyu’s identity. After all, the matter regarding the construction site was a big thing, and the person who died was the matriarch of the Long family. Even if Yunyu had real skills, they would not simply talk about it outside, for fear it would bring her trouble.

Only Tan Lao knew that Yunyu was the one who broke the Seven Demon Soul Destroying Formation and also knew that both his eldest disciple and youngest disciple liked her a lot.

The other group was the hodgepodge metaphysics group. There were mostly people from xuanmen inside, some lone cultivations and quite a few normal people who were there to seek help.

If you are seeing this, this transaltion is stolen. Head over to NovelUpdates to read from the original translator.

This group was quite famous in the metaphysics circle. It was where you could exchange cultivation experience and if someone asks for help, you could also earn some extra money.

Yunyu did not expect that besides the convenience of communication, she could still use a mobile phone like this.

She was very happy, and used her phone to log in every day to see if anyone asked for help to make extra money.

After the Song and Li duo left, Yunyu discussed with his family about contracting the wasteland on the top of the mountain. Grandma Yun and Mother Yun were shocked and told her that the minimum period of contracting the mountain was 10 years, and it would cost a lot of money every year. Not only did it require a lot of money, planting was also very difficult. It may not even be possible to harvest for the first few years. Even if you plant fruit trees and crops, with such a large output, sales will be a problem, and it is easy to lose money.

The minimum payment needed for contracting the mountain was the amount for 10 years, and the calculated price was two to three hundred thousand.

Their steamed bun shop was very profitable. In less than a month, they had almost made a net profit of 20,000 to 30,000 yuan, but it was still not enough to pay the price of contracting the barren mountain.

When Yunyu heard about this, she hurriedly said, “Grandma, Mom, don’t worry. Didn’t I help Boss Yan solve the problem on the construction site a while ago? He gave me 1 million. Even though I have donated some, adding in the money that I’ve earned previously, I still have over a million on hand. I thought it would be useless to keep the money on me, so why not contract the mountain to plant some fruit trees. Grandma, Mom, let me give it a try.”

Grandma Yun thought about the last time Xiao Yu’er went to the construction site to help break the formation. She was almost exhausted and had an accident. It would be better to let her contract the mountain to farm and get busy. It was much better than those dangerous Feng Shui formations.

Grandma Yun finally agreed. Mother Yun did not say anything, but she did not understand how Yu’er had earned the million dollars on the construction site.

She asked her mother-in-law, but my mother-in-law just glossed over it and did not tell her in detail.

It was because Grandma Yun was afraid that Mother Yun would worry. Since the matter had passed, there was no need for them to be brought up again.

After all, contracting the mountain was a big deal. So, Grandma Yun took the time to go to the village committee with Yunyu.

The village committee was very happy to learn that the Yun family wanted to contract the land on the mountain. The barren mountain in the village had never been contracted by anyone, so they enthusiastically told them how to go about doing it. It was easy to contract. After all, no one in the village was willing to contract. The mountain that Yunyu had her eyes on was a continuous piece of land. It was about 3,500 mu and it was 20 yuan per mu. The contract period was 30 to 70 years, which could be paid all at once or once every 10 years.

Grandma Yun negotiated with these leaders at the village committee, “These mountains are troublesome to plant. Our family has contracted such a large area of mountains. Will the village give some discounts?”

After discussing for half a day, they finally came to a consensus of 17 yuan per mu of land with a one-time payment every 10 years. The contract signed was for the maximum period of 70 years and the subsequent fees would be paid every 10 years.

Of course it was not that simple. The mountain was still connected to other villages, and they had to go to the town.

This was the land of the country, and there was no need for every village to attend the discussion. They just had to report to the forestry bureau of the land bureau in the town, and then notify the villages that the mountain was being contracted.

The village committee had to go to town and could not sign the contract on the spot as they had to measure the specific number of acres of land on the mountain.

The procedures were quite fast and the results would be available in a week.

    Yunyu just had to wait.

    ———————————————————————————————————————-

As Yunyu was busy contracting the mountain, the students in the same dormitory as Pi Tianlei in No. 1 High School were about to collapse.

The matter of being able to see ghosts lasted for almost half a month. After his mother Wang Fen found out, she took him to a Taoist temple to worship the gods, and spent hundreds of dollars to ask for a peace talisman, but it was useless. The brothers in the dormitory have lost 20 jin (T/N: 10kg).

To make matters worse, he thought he could get away with Sundays off.

Two days ago, on Sunday, just after school in the morning, he ran out of school with his schoolbag in his hands as if he was being chased by a ghost.

After running to the residential complex, he wiped the sweat from his forehead, and walked up the stairs with trembling legs. His residential complex was relatively old. There were no elevators and he lived on the 5th floor. When he walked to the 4th floor, he saw someone coming down the stairs. The stairway was a little dark. As he glanced up from the corner of the stairs below, he saw that the figure seemed to be Granny Wang from next door. So, he greeted her by calling, “Granny Wang.”

The other party did not respond and walked down slowly which was a bit weird.

Pi Tianlei also walked to the 5th floor and when he was about to pass by Granny Wang, he glanced at Granny Wang and finally found something strange.

Please read this at https://hooliganuser.wordpress.com/ and support the translator. Report to me if this translation is seen elsewhere! @(*^*)/

The weather was hot and Grandma Wang was wearing short sleeves. He thought it was a red short sleeve at first, but now that he got closer, he realized that it was NOT red. It was a gray shirt with blood stains on it, dark red bloodstains. One of Grandma Wang’s legs was also bent in an abnormal arc, as if broken at the knee, and folded at the back at an incredible angle.

Pi Tianlei probably realized something. He felt chills run down his spin. Goose bumps quickly spread all over his body, and the ends of his hair stood up.

He watched Grandma Wang raise her head to look at him. How could she be a live person? There was a big hole in her forehead and blood was gurgling down. Her face was full of blood and her eyeballs were blood red as she stared at him expressionlessly.

No matter how stupid he was, Pi Tianlei could see that the person before him was not a normal being.

“Motherfuckerrr! Fuckkkk! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Help!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH…. !”

Pi Tianlei finally broke down. Crying and howling, he rushed upstairs like a madman. When he arrived on the 5th floor, he immediately opened the door to his house, slammed it shut with a bang and then locked it. He was terrified, shivering by the door, with tears and snot running down his face.

T/N: The next recipe is scrambled eggs with loofah. I’m telling you the flavours for loofah is just …*chef’s kiss*. It doesn’t have that bitter veggie taste that NO ONE likes. Instead, it has this very … tasty taste (I really can’t find the right) that is like when you use Chinese cooking wine in your soup or dishes. Just that kind of delicious flavour. But beware, loofah is very watery (like a LOT of water comes out when you cook it), and the texture is the soft mushy type when cooked too long. The recipe above is a drier version but there are wetter versions too. It all depends on your personal preference. Other veggies with this kind of flavour include pea shoots 豆苗 Dòu miáo (left) and royale/ garlic chives 青龙菜 Qīnglóng cài (right – I know it looks like grass but trust me it’s good. It’s my favourite veggie). All super easy to make! Do comment down below what your favourite veggies are and if you’ve tried any of the veggies mentioned!

  1. I am your opposite, I really like bitter melon when it is cooked correctly, but for I would rather eat plain rice with salt than loofah!
